  • I offer single-visit pricing in addition to package options. By choosing a package option, you can enjoy the benefits of reduced out-of-pocket expenses. For in-person care, a minimum of two hours at a rate of $95 per hour is required.

  • As a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington, all care must occur within the state of Washington. I am unable to provide RN-specific care to clients residing or visiting outside of Washington state. My license and training limit the services and medical advice I am permitted to offer.

As a non-primary care provider, I cannot make medical diagnoses independently. Additionally, I am not authorized to prescribe medications, but I can assist with managing them once they have been prescribed to you.

I am able to assess, treat, and educate if doing so does not violate the above stated limitations. In the event that my assessment findings indicate a need for high levels of care, I will refer you to the appropriate facility in a timely manner.

I am able to provide specific types of care under the direction of a primary care provider including your pediatrician, general doctor, midwife, or OBGYN.

For further details about my scope of practice, please contact me directly to discuss in detail.

Complex Medical Needs

  • When a baby and/or mother needs advanced in-home care during the postpartum period, a trained medical professional can provide peace of mind and identify complications. With specialized visits, detailed monitoring, and the ability to coordinate care with outside providers, I offer skilled nursing for those who need it most.

  • Care packages are tailored to each family’s needs and the associated fees may vary. Please contact Sojourn to discuss how a personalized care contract can meet your requirements.

  • In addition to standard RN care of mother and baby, the following are examples of SojouRN meeting higher medical needs:

-Monitoring medical status changes of patients

    -Supporting previously diagnosed chronic illness

    -Wound care and dressing changes

-Tracking oxygen levels, utilizing heart monitors, and use of advanced in-home equipment

-Collaborating with other healthcare professionals including therapy services

-Keeping records of treatment plans and progress

-Developing daily plans of care for patients under provider guidance

-Administering medication including injections, inhalants, eye drops, oral, and topical medications

-Monitoring diet and gastric tube feeding

-Recognizing early warning signs of health issues

    -Performing simple medical procedures

Financial Information

Fees

Fees vary depending upon the services provided, whether or not packages are purchased for discounted rates, and if travel outside of my service area is required.

Service Agreement

If we agree that SojouRN is a good fit for your care following a phone consultation, you will receive a service agreement outlining the scope of services and payment information.

Insurance

I am not currently contracted with any insurance companies, however, at the conclusion of my services you will be provided with a medical receipt to submit to your insurance carrier. Individual coverage varies greatly and I am not able to guarantee reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company for benefit information regarding lactation support or private duty-nursing services ahead of time. Also note that the Affordable Healthcare Act requires insurance plans to cover breastfeeding support, supplies, and counseling.

Reduced Rates

I believe that quality care should be available to all people, and therefore I have a limited number of openings for clients who might benefit from reduced rates.

“As a third-time mama, I was confident about breastfeeding. Needless to say, I was completely surprised to discover my son’s lip tie was affecting his feeding. Although surgical correction wasn’t warranted, his symptoms were still bothersome enough to cause gas and spitting up. Hillary was so knowledgeable and helped us both find new ways of latching, holding, and nursing. The skills I learned greatly reduced my baby’s gassiness and therefore my stress! I am so thankful for her expertise.”
